Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Pedometer – Step Tracker (“Application”, “App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) accesses, uses, processes, stores, and shares information when you use the Application.
Pedometer – Step Tracker is provided by Trusted Tools & Utilities Apps. We are committed to respecting your privacy and handling your information transparently and securely.
1. Information We Access and Use
The Application provides features including step counting, fitness and activity tracking, distance tracking, calorie estimation, BMI calculation, activity history, achievements, and water reminders.
Depending on your device, Android version, and the features you choose to use, the Application may request access to information or device permissions necessary to provide these functions.
1.1 Physical Activity and Step Data
The Application may access your device’s physical activity information, activity-recognition capabilities, or step-counting sensors to calculate and display information such as:
- Number of steps taken
- Walking or running activity
- Distance traveled
- Estimated calories burned
- Daily activity progress
- Fitness goals and achievements
This information is accessed and used to provide the Application’s core step-counting and fitness-tracking functionality.
1.2 Location Information
The Application requests access to your device’s location when you choose to use the activity tracking feature. Location information is used to map your route and measure the distance traveled during a tracked activity.
Depending on the permission you grant and your device settings, the Application may access precise or approximate location.
To keep tracking an activity when you lock your screen or switch to another app, location access may continue in the background while an activity tracking session you started is still in progress. During active tracking, the Application runs a foreground service and displays an ongoing notification to indicate that tracking is active.
Location is not required for general step counting. When you are not using the activity tracking feature and no tracking session is in progress, the Application does not access location for activity tracking.
You can deny or revoke location permission through your device settings. General step counting can continue without location permission, but route mapping and distance tracking for tracked activities may not function correctly.
1.3 Information You Provide
You may voluntarily provide information such as:
- Height
- Weight
- Fitness or step goals
- Water or hydration goals
- Other information required for BMI, calorie, distance, or fitness calculations
This information is used to provide the corresponding functionality within the Application.
1.4 Water Reminder and Notification Information
If you use features such as water reminders or other activity reminders, the Application may request permission to send notifications to your device.
Notification permission is used to deliver reminders and other App-related notifications that you choose to receive.
You can deny, disable, or modify notification permissions at any time through your device settings. Disabling notifications may prevent reminder features from functioning as intended.
2. How We Use Information
Information accessed or provided through the Application may be used to:
- Count and display your steps
- Track walking, running, or other physical activity
